Post Malone knows he’s better now, and that’s because of the women in his life.
Though the “Rockstar” singer (real name Austin Post) has kept many details about his family under wraps—including the names of his fiancée and their 2-year-old daughter—he recently shared insight into his fatherhood journey.
“It changes your life in the best way ever,” Post gushed in an Aug. 11 segment for CBS Sunday Morning. “And the most beautiful thing is, she has a beautiful mom.”
And the 29-year-old explained how his partner and daughter had an extremely positive impact on him, and his struggle with loneliness.
“Four years ago, I was on a rough path,” he detailed, noting that his daily routine included a good cry and drinking. “It was terrible. I don’t feel like that anymore and it’s the most amazing thing ever.”
Lighting up when discussing his family, Post—who has his daughter’s initials “DDP” tattooed on his forehead—also explained why he chose to sing about the toddler’s future wedding day on his upcoming album F-1 Trillion, out Aug. 16.
“I think about it a lot,” Post admitted before noting he’s written “a lot of songs,” about his daughter.
While his latest comments were enough to rave over for a fortnight, Post has spoken at length about how his family has inspired him to commit to a healthier and happier life.
“Having a baby really put a lot into perspective, and it’s really slowed me down a lot, party-wise, going out and being crazy,” he explained in a 2023 Apple Music interview. “I never really got time or really had the bandwidth to experience the journey to its fullest. So I guess that's what I'm trying to do now.”
As for what Post is focusing on most? Quality time with his baby and her mother.
“I really love hanging out with my baby, hanging out with the lady, playing video games, and in my garage working on projects,” he added to Apple Music. “That's what I love to do.”
